Hamlet

Hamlet’s dad is killed by his dad’s brother Claudius, who becomes king and marries Hamlet’s mom, Queen Gertrude, which is pretty weird. Haunted by the ghost of his murdered father, Hamlet is torn between getting revenge and doing nothing (“to be or not to be?”). He causes his girlfriend Ophelia to go crazy after he stabs and accidentally kills her dad, Polonius, who was spying on Hamlet and Gertrude from behind a curtain. For some reason, crazy Ophelia falls out of a willow tree, into a lake, and is too insane to save herself and she drowns. Ophelia’s brother, Laertes, challenges Hamlet to a duel and teams up with Claudius to make sure Hamlet loses. Gertrude drinks a poisoned drink meant for Hamlet and dies. Laertes stabs Hamlet with a poison-tipped sword, but somehow their swords get mixed up and Hamlet gets him back. With his dying breath, Laertes confesses to Claudius’ plan to kill Hamlet. So Hamlet’s mom’s dead because of him and his dad’s dead and his girlfriend’s dead because he killed his her dad and he just killed his girlfriend’s dad and he’s poisoned and bleeding all over the place and he manages to stab Claudius and make him drink the poisoned drink that killed his mom

And earlier, Claudius tries to kick Hamlet out of the country with the help of Hamlet’s friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Claudius writes a letter to the King of England, telling him to kill Hamlet. Hamlet finds the letter and rewrites it, sentencing his two friends to their death. At the end of the play, it’s revealed that they are hanged.
